BLAKE
SHELTON was in his home state of Oklahoma Wednesday (9/5) to
donate $100,000 to disaster Relief Efforts from money raised
during his 2nd Annual Raindance Benefit held earlier this year
in his hometown of Ada. Blake is hopeful of expanding the event
in the future and building a fund the state can tap into for
future disasters. Current funds are benefiting victims of recent
floods in the Sooner State.
This year’s Farm Aid concert is set for Sunday (9/9) in
Randall’s Island, New York. Founders WILLIE NELSON, Neil
Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews will perform along with
MONTGOMERY GENTRY, The Allman Brothers and others. Since
1985, the event has raised more than $30 million for farming
families across the U.S.
WILLIE NELSON has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy
Swing Vote, in which a Presidential election is decided by just
one vote, to be cast by Bud Johnson, played by Kevin Costner.
Others in the movie include Kelsey Grammar and Dennis Hopper.
DOLLY PARTON will debut her new song, Better Get To Livin’,
when she performs on the September 26 episode of ABC’s Dancing
With The Stars. The tune will be the first release from her
upcoming CD, Backwoods Barbie, due out in the first part of
2008.
